Lion bites off drunk man's hand in Ukrainian zoo

A lion in a private traveling circus in the city of Burshtyn, western Ukraine, has bitten off the hand of a drunken spectator, Russian website Lenta.ru reports. The man was rushed to hospital, where doctors say he will survive.

According to the report, an unnamed drunken zoo customer decided to pat the hungry lion on the back.

The unwise animal lover came up to the lion and put his hand into the cage. The animal did not understood that he did not present any threat and instantly bit off his hand.    

The victim was operated on immediately but doctors were unable to restore his hand.
