Russia’s top car manufacturer to bid for Opel

GAZ Group, Russia's number-one commercial vehicle manufacturer, has confirmed to local media that it is preparing to bid for General Motors' German unit Opel. GAZ is teaming up with Canadian auto parts maker Magna and Russia's Sberbank — currently GAZ Group's largest creditor — on the plan.
