8 killed, 38 wounded as bus overturns in Siberia

Eight people died and 38 were wounded when a driver lost control of his bus that swerved off a road in Siberia and overturned, news agencies said. The driver, who survived, confessed he was talking on his mobile phone when the bus crashed.
Officials told the agencies that Monday's accident occurred not far from Tomsk in western Siberia.
Russian state television showed pictures of the roadside wreckage, AP wrote. The top half of the white bus had been completely crushed. Reports on the NTV network said the bus failed to make a sharp turn in the road and slid off.
Russia's road safety record is among the worst in Europe.
