Man buries girlfriend's abusive brother alive

A young Russian man faces a possible life sentence after burying his girlfriend's brother alive, a report says.

The 20-year-old man from the southern city of Stavropol is accused of tying his victim's hands together and burying him in a cemetery, AFP quoted a local prosecutor as saying.

According to the post-mortem, the victim, who was alleged to have beaten his sister and his mother, died of suffocation.

The case was transferred to a court in the northeastern city of Kirov on Monday. The boyfriend faces between eight years and life in jail.
