Our organization understands the difficult situation Moscow is in. We have been involved in the anti-graffiti effort since the mid-1990's. One thing that has always proven true is that efforts like this almost always backfire.

There is no honor among vandals. Tagging and vandalism will increase around the area of the mural.

Your motivations are good and we understand but you will learn on your own that vandals thrive on anonymity and completing the crime of graffiti.

Abatement and community involvement are key. Involve victims of the graffiti in the abatement effort. Get citizen volunteers to help. Use grass roots efforts. The vast majority of citizens worldwide do not like vandalism.

Consider sending a representative to the Anti-Graffiti Symposium in Victoria B.C. in October. You will be welcome.
